This was one of Jeremy Birn’s lighting challenges from 3DRender.com and CGSociety.org.

The goal of this piece was to recreate the feeling of a natural history museum using lighting techniques.

I am using Maya 2009 to light and shade, and Photoshop CS3 to texture the scene.  I’m using separate passes for key lights, fill lights, and occlusion.
