Candles

This was one of Jeremy Birn’s lighting challenges from 3DRender.com and CGSociety.org.

The goal of this piece was to recreate the feeling of an area being candlelit, using lighting techniques in Maya.

I used Maya 2008 to light and shade the scene and used Photoshop CS4 to composite them together.  I broke the camera shot into passes:
