Bamboo

Responsible for:  ALL (Modeling, Texturing, Shading, and Lighting)

This was my first attempt at creating a photoreal piece using nothing but 3D assets.  I modeled the bamboo plant in Maya 2008 and textured it in Photoshop CS3 and BodyPaint3D.  The textures, themselves consisted of a combination of scanned bamboo stalks and high-resolution photography.  I lit the plant using both Maya lights and Final Gather emitter planes, rendered in separate passes.  Finally, all of my layers were composited together in Shake 4.
