Day 9: UVs / Texture tests
AJ and I decided to divide things out differently for UVs today. He agreed to UV the tower, so I could get to work on texture tests.
As for the breakdown of the textures, I’m hopeful that the Normal maps are going to be more of a help than a burden. Together with the diffuse/color maps, those are going to give us most of the detail. I’m debating whether or not I can incorporate Specular maps for everything before deadline. I guess we’ll find out!
{ Leave a comment }Day 8: Lighting Test 2 and UVs
Well, I decided to postpone finishing the UVs for the lower buildings until I had a pretty good lighting test and I think it’s paid off. Below are the new test renders. I’ll finish the UV set either today or tomorrow. The bad news is that I’ve gone off my schedule a bit. The good news is I found out this week that we have been given a two-week extension.
The new deadline for the contest is Monday, November 10th, at 11:59pm EST.
It was suggested that we try to make things a but more dynamic (flags/shades blowing in the wind) to breathe a bit more life into the scene, especially since it’s stills we’ll be responsible for.
